Berlin International University of Applied Sciences (BI) envisions providing students with a student-centered international and intercultural educational environment that will stimulate and develop their intellectual growth, wisdom, and creativity. The faculty and staff are dedicated to assisting students and preparing them for productive careers and responsible citizenship in a global society. Berlin International aspires to be one of Germany's leading private universities for intercultural and interdisciplinary teaching and research. Berlin International (BI) sees itself as a university of applied sciences of a small to medium size with an interdisciplinary focus on design and business administration. Since its foundation in 2014 our academic institution follows the same vision: First, we want to stimulate and develop the students' intellectual curiosity, their creativity, and their professional skills. Second, we want to promote cross-national and cross-cultural understanding. We believe this is indispensable in a globalizing world. Cultural competence is a precondition to navigate today's multi-cultural landscape. Our new campus, we believe, wants to provide an educational environment which is conducive to reach these goals. Furthermore, through international academic collaborations and joint projects, Berlin International promotes cross-cultural and cross-national understanding. It benefits from its close relationship with BAU's Global Education Network, which is made up of five universities, in this regard. The core values shared by all universities in this network are integrity, respect, excellence, innovation, and social responsibility. Lastly, Berlin International University of Applied Sciences, as an independent institution within this network, has its own individual mission statement and academic profile that has been approved by the Academic Senate.
