The Hannover Medical School (German: Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, abbreviated MHH in German) is a university medical center in the German city of Hanover that is part of a regional medical network. It was founded in 1965. PhD students and scientists from all over the world participate in a wide range of research projects at the MHH and its partner institutes. These activities are grouped together in the Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS).
The MHH clinic is a full-service hospital with a national reach. The university teaches medicine, dentistry, biochemistry, biomedicine, midwifery, and health sciences. Transplantation and stem cell research/regenerative medicine, infection, and immunity research, as well as biomedical technology and implant research, are the primary research areas. The MHH is the largest transplant center in Germany. Along with this, the fields of transplantation and regeneration are among our focal points.
Hannover Medical School is comprised of multi-disciplinary courses. It offers state examinations in the field of medicine and dentistry. Masters study programs that are available at the medical institute include courses in the field of Biochemistry, Bio-medicine, Bio-medical data science, Midwifery, Infectious Diseases and Public Health. The only bachelor study program offered here is Bachelor's in Midwifery.
In terms of studying and internships abroad, MHH offers a wide range of opportunities to students. Exchange programs are enabled by partnership contracts and bilateral cooperation agreements under the ERASMUS program of the European Union. In addition, MHH's international doctoral programs attract highly qualified students and junior researchers to join MHH. These programs are offered by the Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS).
