Saarland University 

Public research university Saarland University is situated in Saarbrücken, the state capital of Germany's Saarland. In collaboration with France, it was established in Homburg in 1948. It is divided into six colleges, each of which focuses on a different area of science. The institution was acknowledged as Germany's premier center for computer science expertise in 2007. The Saarland University is renowned for its work in the fields of computer science, nanotechnology, medicine, politics, and the law. There are a number of specialized research institutes located on the university campus and in the neighbourhood. The Saarland University and international partner universities offer integrated degree programs that can result in the awarding of a joint degree in the subjects of business administration, physics, chemistry, materials science, and the interdisciplinary program "Cross-border Franco-German Studies." Saarland University provides prospective teachers of geography and history with an integrated bilingual (French-German) programme in the field of teacher preparation.
