Study programme Data Science is a joint course offered by the departments of Computer Science and Mathematics. Through the application areas, all other faculties of TU Braunschweig also participate in the study programme. The science of gaining knowledge and insight from data is so highly developed today that it forms Its own field: Data Science. The study of data science combines computer science, mathematics and various selectable application subjects. Because of the fascination for these methods and their importance for business, technology and research, Data Scientist is often considered the hottest job of our time.

The Semester contributions totaling 367.11 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student Support Services contribution fee 110.00 EUR, Student body contribution fee (including the Semester Ticket) 182.11 EUR and Administrative cost fee 75.00 EUR

Long-term tuition fees are levied if students exceed the standard period of study for their subject by more than six semesters. In some further education programmes, you pay tuition fees, and guest students are also assessed a special fee. Students aged 60 and above must pay a tuition fee of EUR 800.00 per semester
After the end of the standard period of study plus six additional semesters, you will be required to pay long-term tuition fees of EUR 500,00 per semester

Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor degree or an equivalent qualification in a prior degree programme in Data Science, Computational Sciences, Mathematics or a closely related degree programme, awarded either by a German university or by a university in a Bologna signatory state.

Additionally applicants should have basic knowledge, that has been acquired within the scope of the first study programme by successfully participating in equivalent study modules, having achieved at least 15 credit points in basic Mathematics and at least 60 credit points in basic Computational Sciences, and knowledge in the following central subjects of Computer Science: Programming skills, Software Engineering, Databases, as well as at least 2 topics from the areas IT Security, Distributed Systems and Computer networks.

Native speakers are exempted from providing language certificates
Applicants who don't have any language certificates can take test at the language center of TU Braunschweig and submit English Language Proficiency Report with at least 2 skills on level B2 and 2 skills on level C1
Applicants who successfully completed a two or more year study programme fully in English within the last 3 years, may be released from the proof of the test upon request
Applicants must provide proof of written presentation about particular specialised qualification, e.g. by way of module descriptions
