The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. The benefit of renewal and revitalization of inner city areas is never reduced just to the inhabitants and stakeholders of a certain quarter  but extends into surrounding areas and to the town as a whole. Accordingly  in urban development nothing is more sustainable than a vital inner city. This thesis is correct for both shrinking cities in Germany and metropolitan areas in the MENA region. Rehabilitation processes require an integrated approach  finally fixed in the urban form  and guidelines that guarantee stability and continuity for all further development.

The Master Programme in Biological Sciences offers in-depth knowledge in the biosciences and will prepare you in the best possible way for a future in research and teaching. In addition to the biosciences you can also apply for a focus area of study in the fields of ecology, evolution and behaviour, cellular and molecular biology or disease biology. This option of pursuing a focus area of study as part of the Master programme enables our students to gain thorough, scientifically founded qualifications in a specific area.

Biological Sciences

University of Konstanz

MA programme in Multilingualism allows students to strengthen their background in theoretical linguistics, especially as applied to current research on multilingualism. It typically includes training in research methods (including data management, visualization, and statistics) and offers opportunities to conduct experimental research, with access to research labs in Konstanz. Students also have the chance to learn about multilingual teaching and to engage in interdisciplinary work with related disciplines, such as Political Science, Sociology and Psychology.

The Master program Precision Medicine Diagnostics is a multidisciplinary program which uses new laboratory and analysis techniques for medical diagnostics. Students decide individually in which area of precision medicine they wish to specialise. Typical areas are high throughput analysis, personalised medicine with immunological methods or the use of biomarkers, then validated by means of clinical studies.

Sustainable Development Management

The International War Studies degree program examines the causes, dynamics and contexts of violent conflicts at a national and international level, as well as their pre-history, course of events, and consequences. The program focuses primarily on military history, the cultural history of political violence, and military sociology, with each field’s respective methodologies and theories. Students will acquire abilities and competencies that enable them to analyze historical and current conflicts. They will deepen and expand their subject-specific competencies to include essential content from military sociology, the history of violence, and military history. As a student of this program, they will be part of a department that will prepare them for a diverse career in chamber music performance, orchestral performance, or teaching. Students participate in solo recitals, chamber music groups, large ensembles, and specialized workshops for specific repertoire and performance preparation.

Mechanical Engineering (ISE)

The Barenboim-Said-Akademie (short: BSA) is a music college in Berlin - Mitte . It is named after Argentine-Israeli pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim and American-Palestinian literary critic Edward Said . The main building is the former scenery depot of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, it is located in the adjacent area to the rear on Französische Straße. Ever since the renovation works were completed during 2014 and 2015, the building now has a lecture hall, several seminar rooms, 21 rehearsal rooms and, since March 2017, a chamber music hall, the main hall of the house , named after the French conductor Pierre Boulez .
 
 For talented young people from the Middle East and North Africa, the state-recognized Barenboim-Said Akademie offers a bachelor's degree in music. The rigorous curriculum also includes humanities and musicology. The academy's faculty includes internationally renowned artists. Aside from the bachelor's degree, the academy offers an artist diploma in all orchestral instruments, piano, and composition, which prepares musicians for a professional career.
 
 The pedagogical spirit of Edward Said and Daniel Barenboim pervades the Barenboim-Said Akademie. Students learn to listen to one another and to come up with their own ideas. The goal is to train outstanding musicians who are also inquisitive and well-educated. The operational costs are borne by the Federal Government of Germany. The scholarships are provided by Germany's Foreign Ministry. The Barenboim-Said Akademie has a 99-year lease on the landmark building from the City of Berlin.
 
 All in all, Barenboim-Said Akademie offers an unprecedented conservatory education for talented, young musicians uniting intensive music performance studies with a grounding in the humanities.

Finding a room is VERY DIFFICULT around this University. Start ASAP. You are most likely on a waiting list for a student hostel accommodation even if you delay few days.

The Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business, and Design (or simply University of Wismar) is Germany's third-largest and third-oldest public university. The university is located on the Baltic coast in northern Germany, with its campus only 500 meters (550 yards) from the harbor. The university, which began as an engineering academy in 1908, has become an important part of the city's cultural life.
 
 Since 2007, the university has been restructured and now has three faculties that correspond to the three subjects mentioned in its name: technology, business, and design. Mechanical, Process and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Multimedia Engineering, and Maritime Studies are among the courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering. The Business Faculty offers courses in Business Administration, Business Law, and Business Informatics. The Faculty of Design encompasses courses in Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Communication Design.
 
 The university offers more than 50 courses, including distance learning courses via its subsidiary WINGS-university. Some courses in Maritime Studies are offered in cooperation with the European Cruise Academy.
