FH Münster was founded on August 1, 1971, with approximately 2,300 students. Today, over 15,000 young people are enrolled in over 100 bachelor's and master's degree programs. Around 110 cooperative doctoral students are currently gaining qualifications, aided by an in-house doctoral college.
FH Münster has evolved over time into a practice-oriented, international, and interdisciplinary university. Both lecturers and students contribute to the successful application of scientific findings. This pays off: the university is now one of Germany's largest and most successful applied sciences universities.
The university's importance as an employer is growing as its student population grows and its research activities continue to expand. Münster University of Applied Sciences now employs approximately 1,000 people, including more than 250 professors, at its campuses in Münster and Steinfurt, as well as our study sites in Coesfeld and Ahlen/Beckum/Oelde.
Students can gain international experience in a variety of ways, including a semester abroad, double degrees, internships, and research stays. This is also true for their staff and faculty, who can attend conferences or participate in teaching exchange programs abroad. They also welcome students and visitors from partner universities.
Their international partnerships benefit from active and dynamic exchange, whether in the EU or elsewhere. Worldwide collaborative activities in teaching and research contribute to the institute's international profile. FH Munster uses its distinct strengths to provide universities and businesses around the world with courses in quality development, knowledge and technology transfer, partnering strategies, and university management.
Above all, FH Münster University of Applied Sciences stands for a quality culture! It is what defines daily life at our university - in all educational, research, transfer, and management processes, as well as support services.
