The Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT) is a university in Hamburg. The institute was founded in 1998 by 40 Hamburg University of Technology professors (TUHH). International engineers, scientists, and business-related graduates complete the NIT program and learn to master leadership and management tasks responsibly and sustainably. The institute provides an English-language master's degree program in Technology Management (M.A. and MBA), as well as a variety of professional training courses and workshops.
The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) and the Deutschen Akkreditierungsrat have both accredited the Technology Management study program. The entire program is written in English. The institute trains German and international students to be technology executives. Every October, between 25 and 37 students begin the Technology Management study program, with the goal of graduating with a Master's or MBA. [3] There are several options for the NIT study program such as a Master with the degree of Master of Arts (M.A.) or Master of Business Administration (MBA) in part-time, or a double master (M.A. oder MBA) in combination with an M. Sc. in engineering or natural sciences from the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), or as a certificate program with the certificate of “Innovation Manager “. Since 2014, the NIT has provided professional training in addition to the master's program in technology management.
The "MyProject" module path is the program's focal point, regardless of the desired degree or certificate. Students develop an entrepreneurial mindset in MyProject to set up their projects, which are refined throughout the program and can be expanded into business ideas. The NIT employs a "Flying Faculty." The lecturers are from international universities or businesses and are only employed by the NIT for their specific modules.
