The Mainz University of Applied Sciences, sometimes known as Hochschule Mainz, is a German institution of higher learning that was established in 1971. The School of Technology, the School of Design, and the School of Business are the three faculties that make up the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. The short study times, international course focus, and the university's practical orientation are shared characteristics of all academic subjects.
It employs 430 people and has 170 professors in addition to 5,700 pupils. The departments of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Geoinformatics, and Surveying are included in the faculty of the School of Engineering. The departments of Communication Design, Media Design/Time-Based Media, and Interior Architecture are included in the faculty for the School of Design.
Currently, the library is spread out between Campus and Holzstraße. Each faculty located at these places has access to the media through the libraries there: economics is located at Campus, while engineering and design is located at Holzstraße.
The University of Applied Sciences library offer books, periodicals, electronic resources, and videos for every subject area. Additionally, it provides general reference books, weekly and daily newspapers, etc. Everyone generally has free access to the inventory.
There is also an AStA at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences. The acting executive board of the (constituted) student body at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences is the General Students' Committee, also known as AStA (German: Allgemeiner Studierendenausschuss). Consequently, it is regarded as the student body government and the student representation body.
