The FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences (German Fachhochschule Westküste) is a vocational university of higher education and applied research.
The region's visionary business people and politicians took the initiative to form it in 1993. It was established in the city of Heide, in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein, and began operations in a rented room, completing its first graduations in 1997.
