In Augsburg, the university has a lengthy and fruitful history. Higher education became accessible to the general public in Augsburg in 1710 when the Reichsstädtische Kunstakademie (Augsburg Municipal Academy of the Arts) took over the artist Joachim von Sandrart's private art school. After serving as an engineering and design school for many years, the university entered a new era in 1971 with the establishment of the University of Applied Sciences. Three years later, the fields of engineering and design also included business studies.
We stand for innovation, creativity, and advancement as a contemporary university. We are the ideal focal point for developing a network of connection between the economy, society, and politics because of our strategic location in Augsburg. Students, professors, and assistants collaborate in a climate of mutual respect and trust. The success of the institution as a whole depends on the contributions made by each member.
In short, the universities shared goal is to create individuals who are in high demand in both business and society. Applying cutting-edge real-world content, modern teaching and learning techniques, and a solid scientific foundation, one can develop application-oriented knowledge and social competency.
