Overview

The Bucerius Law School is a non-profit scientific university that receives approximately 40% of its funding from one of Germany's largest private foundations, the ZEIT Foundation Ebelin and Gerd Bucerius. We value our independence because it ensures academic and entrepreneurial freedom. Bucerius Law School provides a forum for academic, professional, and personal exchange that crosses professional, linguistic, and cultural boundaries. As a result, it fosters an open community that benefits from its diversity. Their shared experiences and successes have fostered a unique sense of community known as the "Law School Spirit." Bucerius Law School is passionate about achieving the highest levels of quality in teaching, research, and management. At the same time, they expect all university members to be willing to develop their talents, put their expertise to good use, and accept responsibility for themselves and others. That is why there are only a few spots available at Bucerius Law School, the administration is lean, and the hierarchy is flat. As a small university, they are adaptable and can respond quickly and without bureaucracy to the changing demands of legal reality. As a private university, the institution's independence allows it to do things differently when it is useful and necessary. That is why Bucerius Law School has no NC. Instead, we admit students based on their individual suitability for law school, which we assess using a scientifically sound selection process. Bucerius Law School has a diverse faculty that supports legal research. The university sees itself as a venue for academic encounters and training for young legal professionals, as well as a forum for pioneers to engage in constructive and critical dialogue with practitioners.
