FHM - Fachhochschule des Mittelstands 

The Fachhochschule des Mittelstands (FHM) is a private , state-recognized university of applied sciences and was founded in Bielefeld in 2000 by the Paderborn District Crafts Association, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe Chamber of Crafts in Bielefeld and the West German Chamber of Crafts . The shareholder today is the Education & Crafts Foundation from Paderborn. It offers bachelor's and master's degree programs in the fields of business, technology, media and communication, sports, health and nutrition, education and social affairs, and psychology. The FHM's studies are organized into trimesters. Courses are held during the first two months of each trimester. The exam preparation phase is followed by the exam phase for the module exams. Every event and module conclude with an examination. Full-time courses, part-time courses for professionals, distance learning courses, and dual study models developed in collaboration with industry are all available at the university. The Fachhochschule des Mittelstands equips its students with skills that are in high demand on multiple levels. The foundation of the FHM Study concept is its own competency model, in which students are encouraged to think and act in an interdisciplinary and interprofessional manner and are holistically qualified to acquire a multiple qualification that is in high demand on the market. Future skills such as media and digital skills, management and leadership skills, and future skills such as technical skills, digital learning, or the ability to classify facts are also important. There are also prerequisites such as social responsibility and the issue of sustainability. All of this incorporates the FHM into their courses in order to best prepare their students for their future in the workplace and in society.
