Freie Universität thrives as an international network university on its diverse contacts with universities and organizations in Germany and abroad, which provide critical incentive to research and teaching.Today, Freie Universität is well connected globally, with approximately 100 university-wide partnerships, approximately 330 university partnerships in the Erasmus mobility network, and approximately 45 institute partnerships. Every year, approximately 600 international scientists contribute to the diversity of teaching and research at Freie Universität. Due to the history of its founding, Freie Universität still bears the terms truth, justice, and freedom in its seal to this day.
Friedensau Adventist University (German: Theologische Hochschule Friedensau) is a branch of the Seventh-day Adventist education system, the world's second largest Christian school system. The university, which is located in the village of Friedensau, about 120 kilometers from Berlin, was founded in 1899 and is Europe's oldest Seventh-day Adventist-owned university. The German government has accredited its courses of study and degrees. The campus is bilingual, with classes offered in both German and English. As of 2017, the university had 200 students from 30 countries enrolled in accredited German language courses, including students studying abroad for a year at Friedensau.
