FUBiS is an intensive academic program offered by Freie Universität Berlin in which students can earn credits that can be applied to their home institutions' degrees. FUBiS sessions last 3 to 6 weeks and are held both in the summer and winter. FUBiS' mission is to provide international students with a premier study abroad program that delivers the highest academic quality while also promoting intercultural competence. FUBiS's goal is to provide a stimulating and rewarding academic, cultural, and personal experience.
FUBiS offers intensive and semi-intensive German language classes at five different levels of proficiency. FUBiS also provides subject classes on a variety of class topics. The majority of classes are taught in English by eminent German and international faculty. These classes meet every weekday and allow students to focus on improving their German skills. Combining language and subject classes allows students to improve their language skills while also expanding their knowledge of a subject. FUBiS carefully selects its teaching personnel in a rigorous screening and application process. FUBiS instructors have demonstrated outstanding competence and experience in their particular discipline over the years.
FUBiS has completed the Forum on Education Abroad's Quality Improvement Program (QUIP). By completing this process, FUBiS has demonstrated that it is in accordance with the Forum's Standards of Good Practice, that it is committed to offering high-quality programs in education abroad at a level of excellence acceptable to the larger academic community, and that it is committed to continuous assessment and improvement.
