The Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, with locations in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, is one of Germany's largest and most efficient universities for applied sciences, with 13,719 students (as of winter semester 21/22). In 1971, the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences was established. Its origins can be traced back to 1855, when the Crefeld Higher Weaving School was established. The university's teaching and research profile connects technology and society. They provide opportunities for young people by offering 87 bachelor's and 27 master's degree programs. In Krefeld, the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is currently the largest department with 1,336 students. There are currently nine research institutes and 14 competence centers at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
