Overview

The ifs internationale filmschule köln gmbh is a privately funded film school in Cologne, Northrhine-Westphalia, Germany. Filmstiftung NRW established the film school. The international film-school cologne, along with the Academy of Media Arts Cologne and the dffb, were ranked second after the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Focus's German film school ranking (issue 22/2006). The evaluation criteria were the university's reputation, student support, technical equipment, and the number of awards received. They offer high-quality, future-oriented study programs with internationally recognized bachelor's and master's degrees in collaboration with the TH Köln. Their graduates quickly gain a foothold in the audiovisual media industry and eventually establish themselves there. High-quality degree programs and professional training courses here prepare students for the realities of work by providing practice-relevant content, individual support, and access to a large industry network. As a small institution, they are particularly agile and forward-thinking. They are constantly changing, always on the pulse of the times and the industry, and sometimes even ahead of it. Their goal is to provide education and professional training that not only meets today's needs, but also those of the future, in order to provide the best career and advancement opportunities possible. The institute believes that exchange and collaboration with international students and teachers, as well as international teaching content, are essential for moving confidently in the global media industry. They were founded and funded by the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and the Film und Medienstiftung NRW, and they see themselves as a talent factory and future lab for the media location NRW. All in all, ifs internationale filmschule köln is moved by audiovisual media in all its facets - from cinema, TV, series and entertainment formats to virtual worlds.
