The Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences is a University of Applied Sciences with three campuses in Kaiserslautern, Pirmasens, and Zweibrücken. It is one of the largest Applied Sciences Universities in Rhineland-Palatinate, with approximately 6,300 students from more than 80 countries and more than 150 professors in five faculties. Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences has over 160 years of engineering education tradition. The university's research profile has been strengthened with the establishment of the now four applied research focus areas of "Integrated Miniaturized Systems," "Reliable Software-Intensive Systems," "Sustainable Products and Services," and "Highly Efficient Technical Systems." Microsystems and Nanotechnology, Mechanics of Materials and System Development, where software is developed with close consideration of technical or organizational features, are the core competencies here. The other core competencies are in Light Construction, Energy, and Mechatronics, with future challenges in the fields of energy, securing a supply of raw materials, intelligent mobility, and digital networking. The department of Building and Design and Engineering is headquartered in Kaiserslautern. The Pirmasens Campus is the smallest of the three locations and is specified in the department of Applied Logistics and Polymer Sciences. The departments of Business Administration and Computer Sciences/Microsystem Technology are specified on the Zweibrücken Campus. More than 70 innovative Bachelor's, Master's, and continuing education courses in Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, Design, Business, and Computer Sciences are available. The scientific study courses are intended to be practice-oriented, interdisciplinary, and flexible, with strong ties to the local region. The promotion of student and professor exchanges with more than 100 partner universities worldwide ensures a high level of internationalism in the study courses. Application-oriented research & development ensures the transfer of knowledge and technology.
