Kühne Logistics University, also known as the Wissenschaftliche Hochschule für Logistik und Unternehmensführung (KLU), is a private university in Hamburg, Germany. KLU is one of only a few private universities in Germany that can award their own PhDs. Kühne Logistics University is situated in Hamburg’s HafenCity waterfront urban development area. The location is one of Europe’s largest seaports and is ideal for the campus. KLU is strongly oriented towards economic science and interdisciplinary studies.
The Wirtschaftswoche 2019 ranking recognizes KLU as one of the strongest research universities in the field of Business Administration in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Out of 200 competing universities, KLU ranks in the top 20 overall and second among private universities. In terms of research output per professor, KLU faculty ranks seventh overall and first among private universities. KLU received the highest marks for all major criteria in the most recent CHE university ranking.
KLU provides its 400 full-time students with a high level of specialization and excellent learning conditions, with one BSc and three MSc degree programs, a structured doctoral program, and a part-time MBA. KLU has an international team of 24 English professors. Industry specialists and managers alike benefit from the application of academic findings to practical issues in open, tailor-made management seminar series. KLU offers international programs taught entirely in English. On September 7, 2017, KLU was granted the authority to confer PhD degrees. All programs are either ASIIN or FIBAA accredited.
KLU maintains more than 50 partnerships with universities around the world, through which students from the Faculty of Economics exchange. Furthermore, at KLU, there are several scholarship opportunities that financially support and encourage students, such as the Deutschlandstipendium, merit-based scholarships, and so on.
