Lüneburg's Leuphana University is a public university in Lower Saxony, Germany. Four faculties are in charge of transdisciplinary scientific initiatives, as well as Leuphana's main research areas in education, culture, sustainability, management, and entrepreneurship. Leuphana College's bachelor's degree programs are divided into eight departments and two teacher training courses. A graduate college with master's and doctorate programs was established in 2008. There is also a cross-departmental research center and a professional school for advanced study courses such as business cooperation.
For students who want to work independently and responsibly, Leuphana College offers a bachelor's degree as part of aninterdisciplinary study model. The course is defined by the Leuphana semester, complementary studies, a major and a minor, a first academic conference after the first semester, and a fresh-man week. The Graduate School offers Master's degree programs with a variety of specialization options in six thematic areas: culture, education, governance and law, management, psychology, and sustainability. The Graduate School study model provides Master's students with unique opportunities where master's and doctorate degrees can be linked directly.
Leuphana is globally and regionally connected through a large number of strategic collaborations in science and practice. The University of Glasgow, Arizona State University, and the City University of Hong Kong are among the important global partners. Regionally, Leuphana collaborates with the TU Hamburg, Helmut Schmidt University Hamburg, and many others. The university participates in international and regional networks, such as the International Sustainable Campus Network and the Northern Association of North German Universities.
Leuphana has received numerous awards for its development as a humanistic, action-oriented, and sustainable university, including several awards from the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, the Mercator Foundation, the Volkswagen Foundation, and as a place in the land of ideas.
