The university collaborates closely with regional partners in business, politics, culture, and society.
The HSO would be impossible to imagine without international networking, and internationalization is an important part of one's self-image. The HSO is both regionally and internationally oriented. It provides six English-language master's courses to students from more than 20 countries. The university is located in the trinational metropolitan region of the Upper Rhine (TMO) and is the founder of the trinational university alliance TriRhenaTech, which was established in 2014. The HSO is based in the southern Upper Rhine region, which is one of Germany's and Europe's most dynamic economic regions. The economic expansion brings with it a large number of medium-sized businesses with diverse positioning in various markets and branches.
The HSO represents inquisitiveness and a pioneering spirit. As a result, science and application-oriented research play a critical role at the HSO. The HSO is one of the state's strongest research universities, contributing to the processing and resolution of pressing social challenges. As a result, the HSO views transfer as mutual exchange relationships between science, business, society, and politics.
