The Regensburg University of Applied Sciences is a German university located in Regensburg. It was established in 1971 as a technology, business, and social work college. Today, the university is one of Bavaria's largest applied science institutions. Its eight faculties offer 28 Bachelor of Science programs, 20 Master of Science programs, and five postgraduate courses.
OTH Regensburg is a long-established university of applied sciences in the Free State of Bavaria. It has a broad academic portfolio in engineering, natural sciences, economics, social sciences, health sciences, and design. Engineering and computer sciences, as well as law, economics, and social sciences, are prioritized.
The institute represents practice-oriented scientific higher education, high-level applied research, and demanding academic further education. Numerous collaborations with other universities, companies, organizations, schools, and public institutions provide an essential foundation for its activities. The primary goal here is interdisciplinary and cross-departmental collaboration within the university.
The Faculty of Computer Science and Mathematics ranked first among all German and Austrian applied science universities in the 2015 CHE university ranking. In previous CHE rankings, OTH Regensburg faculty members were mostly placed in the top groups. Mechanical engineering and civil engineering faculties ranked in the top ten in Germany, and business administration faculty ranked in the top twenty.
