The Technical University of Munich (TUM or TU Munich) is a public research university in Munich that focuses on engineering, technology, medicine, and the natural and applied sciences. Its full name is Technische Universität München. The university now has 50,000 students enrolled, with 37% of them being female and 41% being foreign. The largest campus is in Garching, with additional locations in Freising, Heilbronn, Straubing, and Singapore. Eight schools and departments make up the institution, which is also backed by a large number of research centers.
