German university Universität Augsburg is situated in the Universitätsviertel neighborhood of Augsburg. It was established in 1970, and there are 8 faculties inside it. • Faculty of Economics and Business • Faculty of Law • Faculty of Catholic Theology • Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences • Faculty of History and Philology • Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences • Faculty of Applied Computer Science • Faculty of Medicine This helps 20,000 students who are enrolled in about 40 undergraduate Bachelor's and State Examination programs, as well as 50 Master's degree programs. The research-based study programs open the door to scientific occupations and offer the finest preparation for employment in academic professions. The facilities that a campus university offers are advantageous for both research and instruction. All facilities, with the exception of the Medical Faculty, are located in a small area south of the city center of Augsburg, which includes a large park area with a "Uni-See" (university pond). Short distances guarantee simple communication between researchers as well as favorable settings for students. There are now about 40 universities in Germany that offer medical degrees. Since the winter semester of 2019–20, Augsburg has included medicine to the curriculum. To ensure that doctors in training are well-prepared at the new faculty, a model study course has been created. There are currently twelve of these in Germany; the University of Augsburg is the first to provide a model program of study in Bavaria.
