A public research university in Freiburg im Breisgau, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, the University of Freiburg is officially known as the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg. In 1457, the institute was established. At 11 faculties, 180 degree programs are being taken up by more than 24,000 students from more than 100 different countries. It is one of the biggest university medical centers in Germany, employing about 11,500 people. More than 69,900 inpatients and 837,000 outpatients receive healthcare services each year from over 1300 doctors and 2900 nurses.
