The University of Konstanz (German: Universität Konstanz) is a university in the city of Konstanz in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Its main campus was opened on the Gießberg in 1972 after being founded in 1966 as a reform University. The institution is located on the Gießberg in the Mainauwald and has a total area of around 90,000 square meters (Mainau forest). The institution was built differently from typical university buildings in order to encourage social interaction between researchers, lecturers, and students. The university maintains over 220 relationships with European universities and various international exchange programs in addition to having about 11,500 students from about 100 different countries, promoting worldwide networking. There are more than 100 degree options available to students. Its 24-hour library includes more than two million books and is open every day. The University of Konstanz is a cutting-edge campus institution with an outstanding reputation. Study possibilities in Konstanz are numerous with over 100 study programs offered by the faculties of sciences, humanities, politics, law, and economics. The world is at students' fingertips thanks to over 70 collaborations for scientific collaboration and student exchange and about 220 Erasmus partners.
