The FH Westküste University of Applied Sciences (German Fachhochschule Westküste) is a vocational university of higher education and applied research. The region's visionary business people and politicians took the initiative to form it in 1993. It was established in the city of Heide, in the Federal State of Schleswig-Holstein, and began operations in a rented room, completing its first graduations in 1997. With connections to more than 20 other universities on every continent, University has a very strong global presence. Students gain the most from this, but the West Coast region also benefits. In order to exchange students, lecturers, or staff, the West Coast University of Applied Sciences maintains relationships with universities all around the world. Five languages are taught in all study programs for the faculties of technology and business studies at the West Coast University of Applied Sciences by the language team. Faculty have several years of experience, are native or nearly native speakers, and teach with enthusiasm and personal support for students..
