Public Art and New Artistic Strategies

The course includes lectures on more general approaches to integrated urban development and urban sustainability  but also takes a closer look at urban resilience in the context of climate-sensitive planning by analysing urban heat islands and different buildings typologies and urban patterns. Part of the programme is GIS training and application in order to map such heat islands of informal and formal housing areas  using a practical  illustrative case study. The (Research) Master degree programme in Quantitative Economics (QE) is organized jointly by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics and the Center for Mathematical Economics (IMW). Its quantitative analytical approach to economics provides the relevant skills to model and solve economic problems on an abstract level and to transfer the analytic solutions to real world applications. This encourages a flexible and creative approach to complex economic issues like those found typically in the real world.
Students can choose between two different tracks of the Master degree programme: The regular programme QE and the international track of QE. Environmental and Resource Management

The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. The benefit of renewal and revitalization of inner city areas is never reduced just to the inhabitants and stakeholders of a certain quarter  but extends into surrounding areas and to the town as a whole. Accordingly  in urban development nothing is more sustainable than a vital inner city. This thesis is correct for both shrinking cities in Germany and metropolitan areas in the MENA region. Rehabilitation processes require an integrated approach  finally fixed in the urban form  and guidelines that guarantee stability and continuity for all further development.

Artificial intelligence and Data science

The english degree course Health Informatics educates students to become computer scientists in the health industry. Informatics-based, medical, scientific and technical knowledge in healthcare and in the healthcare industry are influential in management. A special focus within the first four semester is on the learning of programming languages. This course provides knowledge and skills to design information systems for the healthcare sector and throughout the healthcare industry to develop, configure, operate, and comply with the applicable rules and regulations. 



B1 language level must be completed by the end of the studies, either by passing the German course B1/ part 3+4 at DIT or proven by a certificate

Health Informatics

Digital health course is designed for delivering solid theoretical knowledge, practical skills and methodological Competencies in Digital Health – with an emphasis on management and research components – preparing graduates for taking over the leadership positions and driving the digital transformation of healthcare worldwide. The focus is on hands-on, solution-oriented and implementation-oriented competencies in an international context, which are gained through concrete, practice-based projects and real-life case studies. European Master in Project Management

The study course European Master in Project Management – EuroMPM – will lead to a university degree which is highly qualified academically and professionally. It prepares for projects in higher management in industry, organizations and public administrations. The students will learn skills and methods to achieve these objectives. The modules will be taught and applied on the basis of scientific development in order to enable the students to adjust to the requirements and changes of business life. The students will thus be able to analyze procedures and problems in application, to work on professional solutions and to observe non-professional requirements. It is our aim to teach students to gain professional and methodical knowledge as well as personal and social competence.
Students will be enabled to act with responsibility and reliability. The international dimension will be promoted by an optional semester or a short-term stays for block weeks abroad at one of the international partner universities.

The study program Master Digital Transformation qualifies you as a leading expert in digital transformation projects. The focus is the technical viewpoint – especially the process, methods and tools of software engineering and the development and application of digital systems. For the digital transformation the ability to work in cross-domain projects, to apply a system’s engineering approach, to involve users and stakeholders in the projects and to integrate results from different domains is required.
