Course Details

Master program in Biblical Studies (MBSt) will be offered by the Faculty of Protestant Theology in cooperation with the Centre for Religion and Society, at the public University of Excellence in Bonn, Germany. As a research-oriented course, the Master program in Biblical Studies opens up the possibility of subsequent doctoral studies – at the University of Bonn or elsewhere. Competencies acquired in the Master program go beyond biblical exegesis. You will also develop intercultural skills and the ability to participate in an international academic discourse.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor degree (4 years, minimum of 240 CP) or Master degree from an accredited university is in one of the following fields: Protestant Theology, Roman Catholic Theology, Old Catholic Theology, Religion Studies or other related field.

Applicants can show proof that they have already worked on biblical source texts in the original languages (to the extent of one seminar course each) and have sufficient knowledge of Hebrew and Greek (completed language courses in Biblical Hebrew and New Testament Greek).
