Course Details

The Master program in Biodiversity aims to provide students knowledge of structural and functional diversity of ecosystems along with level of genetic diversity within species, which determines the potential for adaptation to changes. In-depth knowledge of the systematics, taxonomy and phylogeny of organisms as well as their function and distribution in natural habitats are taught in this program. This helps graduates to contribute to the scientific discussion of socially relevant issues, evaluate them factually and ethically and justify the individual and social relevance of research projects. This is a joint degree program offered by the Ruhr University Bochum.
