MSc Biodiversity Sciences aims to scientifically convey how the state and changes of biodiversity can be quantified across space and time, what evolutionary and ecological processes underlie them and what consequences arise from biodiversity changes for humans. The study programme is based on the fundamentals of the natural sciences, it has a strong interdisciplinary component and has a strong research orientation enabling students to work systematically and scientifically and to conduct independent scientific research.

In the Technology of Renewable Resources course, you will receive the necessary practical and scientific know-how to use renewable resources sensibly. Equipped with scientific, process engineering and economic basis, you will look at the entire value chain from plant production, harvesting technology, processing and analysis to the manufacture of finished products. In this way, you are broadly positioned with your studies for your later professional activity. They deal with botany and plant constituents, with microbiological and biotechnological processes, with the material and energetic use of renewable raw materials as well as the ecological and economic evaluation of the processes.
Note: If you start your studies in the summer semester, you will study in the StudyFLEX program. What does StudyFLEX mean? The basic course is stretched from 2 to 3 semesters and supplemented by supporting events (bridging courses, tutorials, mentoring, study advice, orientation in the professional field). The original 7-semester course is thus designed for 8 semesters, in which 210 cp are acquired. At the beginning of your studies, you gain time to refresh your scientific basis, to develop your learning strategy and to get to know the professional field.

‌Quantitative Economics

Epidemiology examines which factors protect, maintain or improve the health of individuals and populations, and which factors are harmful and cause diseases. Epidemiological knowledge enables a better understanding of the dynamics of diseases and ill-health conditions and provides a solid scientific basis for health measures. MSc Epidemiology at LMU Munich has a strong focus on teaching students abroad variety of methods needed in modern epidemiology.  The Master program of Neuro science constantly works on educating a new generation of neuroscientists. With an exellent understanding of the molecular, cellular and systemic principles of neurobiology,  students acquire a deeper knowledge of neuron interaction, the dynamics of neuron-glia interaction, rules of information transfer in simple and complex circuits of single brain centers, interaction of different brain centers, and the function of the human brain. Linguistics and literary studies are at the center of this Master program, as opposed to the acquisition and application of the foreign language. Linguistics focuses on the structure and function of language, and In literary studies, primary texts from different genres and periods in American and English literature are analyzed using theories and models and considered within their contexts. The program is laid out in three basic modules, which introduce students to the fundamentals of linguistic and literary studies and language practice.
