The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg, also known as MLU, is a public, research-oriented university in the German cities of Halle and Wittenberg. It is the largest and oldest university in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. MLU offers courses in both German and English that lead to academic degrees such as BA, BSc, MA, MSc, doctoral degrees, and Habilitation. MLU’s academic profile in the field of the humanities is shaped by the core research areas “Enlightenment – Religion – Knowledge” and “Society and Culture in Motion through Diffusion - Experiment - Institution”.
 
 The core scientific research areas at the university are "Materials Science - Nanostructured Materials" and "Biosciences - Structures and Mechanisms of Biological Information Processing." University of Göttingen

The University of Hohenheim is a German campus university that is situated in the region south of Stuttgart. It is Stuttgart's oldest university and was established in 1818. Agriculture and the natural sciences had historically been its key areas of expertise. The bulk of its students nowadays, however, are enrolled in one of the several study programs provided by the faculty of business, economics, and social sciences. The University of Hohenheim is one of Germany's top universities in these subjects since its faculty is consistently rated among the best in the country.
