The Master program Maritime operations study program sets out to cover maritime operations, with ship technology and management as supporting framework. Maritime operations will cover different aspects related to different maritime operations; the international aspect (such as regulations), the technical aspect (such as ship stability), the organizational aspect (such as the complex relationship between human and technical factors) and the managerial aspect (such as safety and risk) throughout the two compulsory semesters. In the maritime industry of today the technological, operational and managerial aspects are entwined and technology and management will both be present in some form in all maritime operations.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The MSc study course comprises four semesters and is non-consecutive, ie it is not based on a specific Bachelor course. Data Science is the science of extracting knowledge and information from data and requires competencies in both statistical and computer-based data analysis. The program is part of and is supported by the Elite Network of Bavaria. Students learn statistical and computational methods for collecting, managing, and analysing large and complex data sets and how to extract knowledge and information from these data sets. The program also comprises courses on data security, data confidentiality, and data ethics. Upon graduation our students are well prepared for a career as a data scientist in the private or public sector in fields such as applied economics, political science, sociology, education, medicine, public policy, and media research. Students may also pursue a doctoral study in a variety of academic disciplines that require quantitative analysis.

Quantum Science and Technology is a broad, interdisciplinary field of contemporary science spanning a wide range of scientific areas with a high potential for the development of future information, sensing and computing technologies. The research field is firmly grounded on the basic understanding of the principles of quantum mechanics, but also relies on developments in neighboring research areas such as mathematics, information technology, electrical engineering and chemistry. It is for this reason that the two Munich Universities – Technical University of Munich and Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, have joined their forces to establish the interdisciplinary Master study program Quantum Science and Technology. 

Quantum Science and Technology

The  Master program Evolution, Ecology and Systematics is strongly research-oriented and will provide you with a broad biological background in the three main areas and will train students to become a critically thinking scientist. During the program, students will become familiar with the many techniques and approaches that are used in the disciplines of evolution, ecology and systematics. These include modern field experiments, the use of natural history collections, mathematical modeling, data management and modern genetic and genomic methods.

Evolution, Ecology and Systematics

Erasmus Mundus Master Programme in Evolutionary Biology is a research-oriented Master programme for talented and motivated students who are interested in understanding evolution in all Its facets. It is a joint project between four European universities (University of Groningen, Netherlands; Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, Germany; Uppsala University, Sweden; University of Montpellier, France) as partners and Harvard University (USA) and University of Lausanne (Switzerland) as associated partners.

Students have to fill out the online Application form. Make sure that you receive a confirmation Email within 7 days. Additionally students have to send the MEME reference form to at least two (preferably three) qualified referees, and make sure that these referees send the completed reference form via Mail: meme@rug.nl, stating the name of the candidate in the subject line of the email
