The Master degree program in Water Science and Engineering offers an interdisciplinary and research oriented education right at where water-related engineering and natural sciences meet. Graduates of this program are capable of independently developing strategies and technical solutions for sustainable management of water resources. Their complex area of work is located between the conflicting priorities of efficient use of limited water resources, increasing demands in their protection, handling of hydrometeorological extreme events and impacts of the global change on the water cycle and water-related cycles of materials.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The Semester contributions totaling 230.20 EUR must be paid in each semester. It includes, Administrative fee is 70.00 EUR, Student union fee is 77.70 EUR, Student body fee is 7.50 EUR and Guest auditor fee is 75.00 EUR

The Master of Science in Neuroscience unites teaching expertise at the faculties of biology, engineering, and behavioral sciences and economics to offer a coherent course program that provides the training needed by the next generation neuroscientists. Neuroscience is the scientific study of the nervous system and the brain, with the aim to unravel their function. Modern neuroscience investigates the brain on multiple scales, ranging from the molecular level to behaviour using a combination of experimental and theoretical techniques. Thus, neuroscience is multi-disciplinary drawing from biology, medicine, behavioural sciences, engineering, computer science, mathematics and physics.

Neuroscience

Econometrics is a Master program jointly offered by the TU Dortmund University, Ruhr University of Bochum and University of Duisburg-Essen. Econometric methods are increasingly gaining importance in research, business and the public sector. Students of Econometrics are capable of using mathematical models to quantitatively describe and analyze problems that arise in companies, research, government, financial institutions and other organizations. They have an extensive understanding of statistical methods and an in-depth knowledge of central economic causal relationships and the resulting econometric questions.

The Semester contributions totaling 334.06 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student Union fee 100.00 EUR, Social Contribution fee 5 EUR, Student union fee 16.00 EUR, VRR semester ticket fee 154.56 EUR and NRW ticket fee 58.50 EUR

Diploma from an English-speaking school or an English-speaking course of study is also accepted as proof of language proficiency

A Master in Material Sciences and Industrial Heritage Conservation opens excellent new job prospects, provides the opportunity to learn more about sustainability issues, and prepares for organisational and leadership assignments. Materials science is a cross-sectional discipline in engineering that accompanies products throughout their entire life span. Graduates will develop a technical comprehension of damages caused by aging, tear and wear and corrosion and assess those regarding their cultural dimension and impact and learn to  resolve such challenges.

The languages ​​of instruction are English and German; the Mineral Resource Engineering major can also be completed entirely in English.
