Course Details

Ecumenical Studies is and international and interdisciplinary degree program that is taught in English and aimed at students with different religious and cultural backgrounds. Based on the assumption that activity in the ecumenical movement requires specialized historical and theological knowledge and interdisciplinary focus, the overall objective is to make a contribution to the current, continually growing inter-religious dialogue and the relationship between church and society.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirement includes and undergraduate degree in Catholic Theology, History of Religion, Jewish Studies, Old-Catholic Theology, Philosophy of Religion, Protestant Theology, Religious Education, Religious Studies, Sociology of Religion, Orthodox Theology or other related field.

Applicants must possess a basic knowledge of the challenges of ecumenical research, demonstrated by studies amounting to at least 12 Credit Points (CP) in the field of ecumenism or equivalent attainment (Christian theology, Christian/ecumenical dialogue, etc).

Applicants from outside Germany or other EU country must pass the aptitude test for university studies.
