English studies is dedicated to the investigation of the English language, literature and culture in their various present-day forms and in their historical development. As a major subject, a Bachelor degree in English encompasses the scientific investigation of English languages, literatures and cultures as well as in-depth language training. Traditionally, Britain and North American are of central significance both in teaching and research, but there are also a number of classes on other varieties of the language, other literatures in English and other English-speaking cultures.

English Studies

This research-oriented Master program in Chinese Studies is a novelty in sinological education. Focusing on Transformation and Particularity in China, the program combines content courses with Advanced language training. Behavioural Neurobiology

The study of climate physics (meteorology and physical oceanography) will provide students with Advanced knowledge and skills using the terms and laws of physics in atmosphere, ocean and the climate system. Students will become familiar with experimental and theoretical methods, and will be guided toward current research. The courses will provide instruction on how to present physical context, how to critically assess scientific problems, and how to apply modern methodology in experimental and theoretical climate physics. Mathematical methods are an indispensable tool for processing physical relations, and they are essential for the comprehension of physical context.

The Hochschule Harz – University of Applied Studies and Research has two bases in Saxony-Anhalt. The Department of Automation and Computer Sciences as well as the Department of Business Studies are located in Wernigerode. The Department of Public Management can be found in Halberstadt.
 
 Hochschule Harz has its headquarters in Wernigerode. The administrative and instructional buildings of the Department of Business Studies, as well as the Department of Automation and Computer Sciences, are housed on a 62,000-square-meter-large green campus in Hasserode (district of Wernigerode). The largest of the five applied science universities in the German federal state of Brandenburg is the Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau (abbreviated UAS Wildau). Witten/Herdecke University is a private, state-recognized, non-profit university in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It was the first private university in Germany to be accredited as a "Universität," a designation that acknowledges the university's academic standing as being on par with public universities and gives it the status to grant bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees as well as the German Habilitation.

For more than 30 years, the UW/H has provided courses with a future in the fields of business, politics, society, psychology, dentistry, and medicine. The University of Witten/Herdecke enrolls over 2,600 students and employs 582 people, including a faculty of 71 professors and 232 lecturers/researchers. Each year, graduate school awards a Ph.D. degree to about 100 Ph.D. candidates. The university's strength in graduate education is demonstrated by the fact that there are also more master's students than bachelor's students. Currently, the university is growing its campus and accepting more students.
