Note: Applicants have the option to study for an additional one semester in one of the partner universities and acquire a dual degree. This means that you will receive a second Master degree from one of our partner universities abroad.

The English-language North American Studies Master program deals with the complex literature and cultures of North American, particularly the USA and Canada, but also the Caribbean and Latin American, and performs interdisciplinary teaching and research work. Central investigative aspects are the multifaceted interculturalism of the respective countries, which are analyzed using newly developed, transnational and cross-border methods and disciplines, among others. The program qualifies graduates for working in research and teaching in the field of North American literature and cultural studies, in editorial professions (journalism, publishing), mediation roles in the intercultural field (language, cultural mediation), professions in administrative services, work in foreign service (EU, UN, embassies) and in international corporations (public relations, management). 

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

The Semester contributions totalling 354.17 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 90.50 EUR, Student Body fee 14.00 EUR, Semester ticket fee 199.67 EUR and Administrative fee 50 EUR

Cambridge CAE and FCE, UNIcert III, Cambridge IGCSE with level C1, are accepted proof of language proficiency

North American Studies

The teaching degree program English includes the study of the language, literature and culture of English-speaking countries. Students receive a solid overview of both classical and modern English-language literature and culture and also explore current topics from the areas of structural and applied linguistics. Teaching at vocational schools involves teaching at a German public school, candidates must follow up their Bachelor degree with a Master of Education degree program as well as practical teacher training.

The Semester contributions totaling 320.11 EUR must be paid each semester. No official language certificates (IELTS, CAE, TOEFL) are required for studying English studies. However, a very good knowledge of English (example seven years of schooling) and knowledge of a second modern foreign language are recommended

This program is unique because it offers a joint, integrated programme run in a Consortium of twelve renown universities on four continents. 

The Semester contributions totalling 350.48 EUR must be paid each semester. The Master in Social and Cultural Anthropology is an international research-oriented study program. It provides in-depth knowledge of the social and cultural variation in the world, and teaches students an understanding of the similarities between social systems and human relationships. This courses aim to create an understanding of the interrelationships between different aspects of society and therefore cover a wide range of topics such as religion, migration and integration, economic and political organization, health and illness, ritual and performance, violence and memory, patterns of exchange, kinship and solidarity, and socio-cultural diversity.

The knowledge obtained will prepare students for a successful international career as a true business innovator. Career prospects include Founder / CEO, Product Owner, Innovation Manager and so on.

The Master programme in International Healthcare Management puts a strong emphasis on internationality, and how the global Healthcare industry operates. Combined practical skills and in-depth research of the economic, political and social elements affecting international health policies and markets, enables students to graduate as an expert on international Healthcare systems optimisation. Career prospects include Healthcare Management Consultant, Product Manager, International Regulatory Manager and so on. This program is offered in two variants of 60 and 120 ECTS. 

International Healthcare Management (Online)
