International Master degree in Educational Quality in Developing Countries (IMPEQ) was developed to respond to the skills shortage related to the development of educational quality in developing countries, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. The aim of the program is to provide people in management positions in the education systems with in-depth knowledge and management skills in order to bring about changes in their education systems and to design, influence, control and evaluate reform processes in their systems. In addition, the program promotes the development of qualified research capacities that can support the development of educational quality in the respective countries. IMPEQ is a blended learning programme, which combines periods of attendance in Bamberg, Germany and Butare, Rwanda, with online mentoring and self-study. Students are able to continue their employment while studying in the programme.
