Master

The part-time Master program International Business Management and Sustainability (IBS) is a business administration program for graduates of business and non-business Bachelor programs with work experience (finishing degree: Master of Business administration, MBA). It is designed for (future) managers and provides them with a comprehensive and in-depth portfolio of competencies. The teaching of specialist knowledge in the area of "sustainability" is covered in all modules. The overall objective of the program is to train managers for companies in business markets with an ecological, economic and social understanding of sustainability for future organizational and market requirements in an international context.

The study program takes place part-time over five semesters and concludes with the Master thesis. The lectures are held in English. However, the Master thesis can be written in English or in German.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The Semester contributions totaling 185 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes 90.50 EUR for Studierendenwerk , 70.00 EUR for Administration costs, 16.50 EUR for Student Body Representative Committee and 8.50 EUR for Student ID card

Applicants are exempted from providing English language certificate in case of completion of an English language module in the Bachelor degree program with an overall grade of at least 2.5

The Master degree program in Economics focus on Advanced Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Econometrics that provide a solid foundation for the students. Most courses have a strong focus on international and in particular European topics. The practice-oriented Master in Law and Economics of the Arab Region provides in-depth knowledge for economic analyses of the legislation with this unique geographic focus. Graduates are awarded a double degree: a law degree from the Faculty of Law at Universität Hamburg (Master of Law, LLM) and an economics degree from the Faculty of Economics and Political Science (FEPS) at Cairo University (Master of Economics, MSc).
Students learn to apply the tools of economics and social sciences to legal issues. They are subsequently able to communicate economic analyses of legislation and formulate policy recommendations. Marine Science Education, Microorganisms in the ocean are fundamentally important for a sustainable biosphere. They directly influence our environment and our climate. Master in Economic geography provides information about the intersection of economics and geography in which economic aspects of geography and the geographical aspects of the economy. Students learn how to explain complex interrelations using theoretical knowledge, how to empirically investigate regional development processes, and how to develop sound regional policy strategies for action.
The double degree track is not a stand-alone programme, but an elective option in the Master programme in economic geography. Interested students indicate that they wish to take this option when applying for the Master programme. Five study places are allocated each year via an internal procedure. Master degree programme in Economic Geography at Leibniz Universität Hannover is available to some students as a double degree programme with the University of Groningen. Students who pursue the double degree track spend their first year in Hannover, and the second year in Groningen.

English Studies is offered as a teaching subject (or supplementary teaching subject) within the Bachelor programme Technical Education. As first subject, a vocational subject must be studied. Students who take the subject of English Studies at Leibniz Universität gain in-depth knowledge of literature, cultural studies, linguistics and teaching methodology. Students expand on their knowledge of the English language in language practice courses, offered by native speakers at the English Department.

The subject English Studies is offered as one of two subjects within the Master Teacher Training Course for Grammar Schools. Students on the Master degree programme acquire the specialist and teaching skills required to work successfully as a grammar school teacher. Teaching methodology is of great importance to students aspiring to become school teachers. In addition to the customary theoretical education in teaching methodology, students complete five weeks of practical training at a school after attending a preparatory seminar. Seconded grammar school teachers help prepare students for their practical training.
