Informatics for the Natural Sciences

The Master of Arts degree in Sociology offers well-founded theoretical and methodological training and enables specialization opportunities in different areas. The overarching goal of the study program is to impart extensive theoretical and methodological knowledge to the students in the theory and method seminars as well as in all offered areas of general and special sociology. The special feature of the MA Sociology in Bielefeld is that the students are given maximum freedom of choice at the largest sociological institution in the country. In addition to an introduction and a final module  you can choose depending on your individual focus - and this during the course of your studies  not at the beginning.

The International Track is the English-language branch of the German-language Master programme. Accordingly  M.A. Sociology students can combine English- and German-language courses or complete the entire Master programme in English.

Sociology International track

The interdisciplinary Master program "History  Economics and Philosophy of Science / Interdisciplinary Studies of Science" (ISoS) focuses on science-reflective studies and is aimed at working out essential characteristics of science and making them explicit. It is also a unique location for interactions between people of different religions and cultures. Students from Germany and throughout the world live and study together, sharing their varied theological and cultural origins. 92 students from 33 different nations are currently enrolled at the FIT, including those enrolled in the Master's program in "Intercultural Theology," which is provided in collaboration with the University of Göttingen.
At FIT, students can study intercultural theology from countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Germany, Georgia, Ghana, India, Iran, Cameroon, Kenya, Korea, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, USA, and Belarus.

The goal of the research project is to promote academic achievements in the areas of migration and religion, international diaconia, and development in an environment related to the church and to establish the FIT as a reputable institution for intercultural, theological, and interfaith scholarship.

The following fields are the focus of the academic research conducted by FIT faculty members in conformity with this objective:

•        Systematic theology and hermeneutics from an intercultural perspective
•        Mission studies and international diaconia

The FIT library is centrally placed on the campus grounds and houses around 65,000 books, many of which are in the subjects of intercultural theology, mission studies, history of religion and Christianity, bible studies, migration, social work, and development studies. Students, instructors, and staff at FIT have continuous access to the library.

University of Applied Sciences for Intercultural Theology (FIT) Hermannsburg

The University of Education was established in 1962 and relocated to Ludwigsburg in 1966. It is the biggest of the six universities of education in Baden-Wuerttemberg, with around 6,000 students and more than 470 employees. The doctoral and post-doctoral degrees offered by these universities of education put them on par with traditional universities. In their research and instruction, they prioritize challenges related to educational science.

The Ludwigsburg University of Education (LUE) is a cutting-edge hub of expertise for educational sciences in four closely related fields: extracurricular children's and youth education, adult/further education, and education in cultural and social sectors.

The university's profile includes a significant portion of the bachelor's and master's degree programs in primary, secondary, European secondary, and special education (B.A./M.Ed.). A Master of Science in vocational education is additionally offered by the University of Education.

At LUE, internationalization is a major concern. LUE participates in the immigration society as a scientific educational force and provides administrators, lecturers, researchers, and students with a variety of opportunities to travel abroad. Over 90 partner universities across the world maintain close links with the International Office (Akademisches Auslandsamt). As a part of the organization's European and international mobility programs, numerous students and lecturers are given financial assistance for trips abroad. Every year, the International Office supports approximately 100 international students and countless international scholars while also acting as a welcome center.

University of Education Ludwigsburg

In the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the city of Münster is home to the University of Münster, often known as the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster or WWU.

It is the fifth-largest university in Germany and one of the key hubs of German intellectual life, with more than 44,000 students and more than 120 disciplines of study offered in 15 departments. The institution offers a huge selection of courses in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. The Ph.D. programs as well as postgraduate courses in information systems, geoinformatics, and geospatial technologies are among the courses that are also taught in English.

The University of Münster has connections all around the world. The institution and the city are characterized by 3,500 international students and doctorate candidates from 130 countries, an increasing number of international study and doctoral programs, 750 international scientists annually, and these numbers. The University of Münster is enhancing its international degree programs, encouraging the exchange of its students, scientists, and staff, and providing its students with the chance to gain international experience first-hand through the "Internationalization at home" program in order to advance this.

The Universitäts- und Landesbibliothek Münster (ULB), the regional library of Westphalia and the main library of the university, is located in Münster. In 2011, there were more than 6.2 million books in the library, 2.68 million of which were kept in the ULB and 3.53 million by the 146 faculty and department libraries. Electronic articles and newspapers make up 47,350 of those.

The university has an active student life. The university's sports club ("Hochschulsport") provides more than 100 sports courses, sports trips, continuing education, and international competitions.


University of Münster

The University of Passau, or Universität Passau in German, is a public research university founded on October 9, 1978, in Passau, Lower Bavaria, Germany. Its first semester enrollment was 463 students.

There are now 39 distinct undergraduate and graduate degree programs offered at its four faculties. On its university campus, which is a short distance from Passau's Old Town, about 12,000 students from more than 100 different countries and about 1,100 primary employees in the academic units and academic support divisions are working on research, teaching, and support activities for higher education. This campus has won multiple architectural awards in addition to being well-equipped in terms of technology infrastructure.

The library was founded with the university in 1978 and welcomed Passauer residents and students that same year. Together with the five faculty and institution libraries, the central library serves as the university's primary library. Currently, there are two million volumes and 3,050 journals in the university library. Each of the 1,000 desks in the reading rooms, which are available 16 hours a day, is for library patrons.

The University of Passau is renowned for its international orientation and atmosphere outside of Germany and Bavaria. Approximately 236 international universities throughout the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Australia have cooperative partnerships with the university, allowing students enrolled there to complete parts of their studies abroad.
