Master in physics is very much a research-focused programme. In the field of theoretical physics, students are initially taught Advanced elements of quantum mechanics and statistical physics. The work in experimental physics centres on Advanced concepts in solid-state physics and atomic physics.

Requirements

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirement includes a Bachelor degree or equivalent university degree with a focus on physics or in a physics-related subject as well.

Special aptitude for the Master degree (usually determined by a Bachelor degree with an overall grade of 2.5 or better or an aptitude test.

Specialist skills in the fields of mechanics, electrodynamics and optics, thermodynamics and statistics, atomic and molecular physics, condensed matter physics, nuclear and elementary particle physics and quantum mechanics are required for the physics major. The number of credit points acquired in lectures and exercises on experimental physics, theoretical physics and mathematical foundations should not be less than 30 CP each. At least 20 CP should have been acquired as part of physical internships.
