The MA in Research Training Program in Social Sciences is a one-year program particularly suited for research-focused students who are interested in subsequently completing a PhD in Germany. During the two semesters, the MA Research Training Program in Social Sciences offers a deeper understanding of theory, contemporary research methods and debates within the social and political sciences. Students have the possibility to select courses most suitable to their own academic needs and objectives and will receive intensive supervision and counselling during the process of developing their individual profile.

The Semester contributions totaling 315.64 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Semester fee 50.00 EUR, Contribution to the student body fee 9.75 EUR, Contribution to Student Services fee 54.09 EUR, Semester ticket for public transport 193.80 EUR and Solidarity contribution to the semester ticket 8.00 EUR
Applicants must have earned 240 ECTS through a first university degree (Bachelor with 180 ECTS) plus at least one year of Master studies (60 ECTS).
Alternatively, it is possible to apply with a Bachelor degree worth 240 ECTS. Further requirements are: A minimum of 20 ECTS in social and/or political science theory and 10 ECTS in empirical social science research methods.
As a part of selection process applicants need to attend an interview.
English language proficiency can also be proven by submission of UNIcert II certificate with minimum score of 3
