Course Details

Master in Specialized Orthodontics focus on Lingual Orthodontics, European Functional Appliances, Micro screws and micro implants, Syndromes, maxillofacial deformities, cleft lip, alveolus and palate, and Orthognathic surgery. On behalf of the University of Duisburg-Essen, the International Medical College of the University of Duisburg-Essen implement oder conducts Master degree programs in the field of oral medicine as a blended learning concept. Part-time course has two variants. 3 semester program with 60 RCTS and 4 semester program with 90 ECTS. The 4 semester Master course includes an additional semester with main focus on Scientific Work and Empirical Research.

Entry Requirements

Minimum requirement includes general or relevant subject-related university entrance qualification and license to practice medicine (stomatology) or dentistry in Germany (requiring the successful completion of dental/general medical studies at a university with a regular duration of at least 10 semesters (300 CP)) or equivalent license recognized by a state medical or dental board of one's respective country.

One of the important requirements is experience in orthodontics. That means that you have to verify that you have done a special certificate which is equivalent to the German Specialist in Orthodontics.

The Examination Board decides on the determination of entry requirements and in particular the equivalence of foreign degrees and other qualifications acquired abroad.
