The term “Photonics” stands for the science of photon.The classical meaning refers to fiber-optic communication originated in the 1980s. Today the term incorporates many novel
disciplines. In the essence  it is related to four application areas  where “Photonics” is used to connote applied research and development.
These are:
Optical information and communication
Industrial manufacturing
Illumination and displays
Biophotonics in the domain of Life Science
Specifically “Photonics” not only denotes the particle properties of light  the term incorporates all practical applications of optics and the potential to create  transport and process optical signals.Photonic techniques are used in various fields. The combination of medical problems and photonic technologies proved to exhibit a high economical potential.

The BA Architecture program provides students with the skills and specialized knowledge to develop and apply creative and responsible solutions in the field of architecture. The program is firmly grounded in the vibrant city of Berlin but taught exclusively in English. It is designed to help students understand their role and responsibility as architects in any given physical and cultural context – on either a local or a global level. Upon completing the program  graduates will be able to apply their understanding of spaces as a whole and use their design skills and their knowledge of the relationships between built environment  Technology  art  and geographical  social  sociocultural  and political contexts to solve complex architectural challenges.

The Master program Evolution  Ecology and Systematics aims at students with a Bachelor degree in biology who are interested in molecular and organismic issues. Provided are in-depth knowledge of biological systems with a clear focus to current research in organismic and evolutionary biology.
The study is interdisciplinary  so that competencies in ecology  biodiversity (including taxonomic knowledge)  evolutionary biology  paleontology  systematics and phylogenetics can be acquired at different organizational levels and for different groups of organisms.

The amount 266.10 EUR consists of a 74.00 EUR basic fee for the student union, 90.60 EUR semester ticket for local transport, 68.50 EUR semester ticket for rail,  2.00 EUR culture ticket, 11.00 EUR contribution for the student body, 20.00 EUR additional fee Equipped with the Thoska chip card

The Humboldt University Berlin is the coordinating university of this programme.

The Institute for Diaconal Science and Diaconal Management [IDWM] is a university institution with the authority to award doctorates and habilitations in the field of diaconal science. The emphasis is on corporate and diaconal management issues. Since January 1, 2022, the IDWM has been a part of Bielefeld University.
 
 The IDWM prepares executives from diakonia, church, health, and social economy to manage church and social organizations across the country. Our students have extensive leadership experience and degrees in theology, social pedagogy, humanities, economics, and social sciences. They come from various countries and contexts (Europe, Africa, and Asia). Students will further continue their education at the IDWM through compact seminars, master's programs, or doctoral programs. A multidisciplinary team of lecturers from science and practice creates the courses.
 
 The IDWM provides an interdisciplinary and diversely networked space for contemplation and reflection on diaconal corporate management and current social action challenges. The IDWM is developing diaconal science as an interdisciplinary, application-oriented science through application-oriented research projects at three chairs, international visiting professorships, dissertations, and habilitations.
