The program Urban design revitalization historic cities districts focus of development of historic cities in Europe and in the MENA region is until today one of the most important challenges for sustainable urban development. A vivid inner city with a historic core shapes the image and the identity of the city and is the catalyst for developments in the whole town. The benefit of renewal and revitalization of inner city areas is never reduced just to the inhabitants and stakeholders of a certain quarter  but extends into surrounding areas and to the town as a whole. Accordingly  in urban development nothing is more sustainable than a vital inner city. This thesis is correct for both shrinking cities in Germany and metropolitan areas in the MENA region. Rehabilitation processes require an integrated approach  finally fixed in the urban form  and guidelines that guarantee stability and continuity for all further development.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Applicants with a higher education entrance qualification from Australia  Canada  Ireland  New Zealand  Great Britain incl. Northern Ireland or the United States of American do not have to submit a separate proof of English language skills

The Master Programme in Biological Sciences offers in-depth knowledge in the biosciences and will prepare you in the best possible way for a future in research and teaching. In addition to the biosciences you can also apply for a focus area of study in the fields of ecology, evolution and behaviour, cellular and molecular biology or disease biology. This option of pursuing a focus area of study as part of the Master programme enables our students to gain thorough, scientifically founded qualifications in a specific area.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Biological Sciences

University of Konstanz

MA programme in Multilingualism allows students to strengthen their background in theoretical linguistics, especially as applied to current research on multilingualism. It typically includes training in research methods (including data management, visualization, and statistics) and offers opportunities to conduct experimental research, with access to research labs in Konstanz. Students also have the chance to learn about multilingual teaching and to engage in interdisciplinary work with related disciplines, such as Political Science, Sociology and Psychology.

The objective of the Master degree programme in American Studies is to provide students with basic knowledge of North American from the early colonial period through the 21st century, including Its politics, literature, culture, geography, history, and society, as well as Its ethnic diversity and religious influences. Students of the Master degree programme have the opportunity to select specialisations at an early stage of their studies, by choosing between literature and cultural-historical disciplines, or political and social-science-oriented disciplines. The Master program in Sustainable Development Management integrates and connects the parts of economics and political science relevant to sustainable development. This combination gives students the necessary qualifications to help shape both the academic discourse on sustainable development and project practice. Graduates of Sustainable Development Management will be able to pursue a broad range of careers in the following areas Public institutions, Multilateral development institutions, Private sector,etc.

Sustainable Development Management

The International War Studies degree program examines the causes, dynamics and contexts of violent conflicts at a national and international level, as well as their pre-history, course of events, and consequences. The program focuses primarily on military history, the cultural history of political violence, and military sociology, with each field’s respective methodologies and theories. Students will acquire abilities and competencies that enable them to analyze historical and current conflicts. They will deepen and expand their subject-specific competencies to include essential content from military sociology, the history of violence, and military history.  Opportunities abound in International Organizations and NGOs, in academia, the media, fields related to politics and policy, think tanks, museums, foundations and cultural management and communications. 

Language of instruction is English. Some courses may be taken in German

Master of Science program in Mathematics is targeted at students with the university degree Bachelor of Science in mathematics or an equivalent subject. The following minors can be chosen: Natural sciences and technology (computer science, mechanical engineering or physics), Business mathematics (economy or business information systems), or Philosophy. The degree program teaches skills for analysis of abstract structures, recognising, phrasing and solving problems in mathematics and the minor.

Mathematics

As a student of this program, they will be part of a department that will prepare them for a diverse career in chamber music performance, orchestral performance, or teaching. Students participate in solo recitals, chamber music groups, large ensembles, and specialized workshops for specific repertoire and performance preparation.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, is highly practice-oriented, and will provide students with all the business administration knowledge and skills they will need as a future manager in international companies. Students acquire in-depth expertise in strategy and leadership, categories of business organisations, management framework, management theory and management tools. Once students graduate, they will be able to take a responsible, ethical approach to decision-making and evaluation. Career prospects include Business Development Manager, Senior Brand Manager and so on.

The Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering provides general engineering training in mechanical and plant engineering. The Hochschule Wismar, University of Applied Sciences: Technology, Business, and Design (or simply University of Wismar) is Germany's third-largest and third-oldest public university. The university is located on the Baltic coast in northern Germany, with its campus only 500 meters (550 yards) from the harbor. The university, which began as an engineering academy in 1908, has become an important part of the city's cultural life.
 
 Since 2007, the university has been restructured and now has three faculties that correspond to the three subjects mentioned in its name: technology, business, and design. Mechanical, Process and Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Multimedia Engineering, and Maritime Studies are among the courses offered by the Faculty of Engineering. The Business Faculty offers courses in Business Administration, Business Law, and Business Informatics. The Faculty of Design encompasses courses in Design, Architecture, Interior Architecture, and Communication Design.
 
 The university offers more than 50 courses, including distance learning courses via its subsidiary WINGS-university. Some courses in Maritime Studies are offered in cooperation with the European Cruise Academy. Most courses lead to a bachelor's degree after 3-3.5 years or a master's degree after another 1.5–2 years. Students with a master's degree (5 years of study) qualify for pursuing a PhD.
 
 The content, quality and structure of the teaching are based on the leading international standards. The university represents a critical and humanistic teaching concept towards the students.
