It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Macromedia University of Applied Sciences

The Master program is research-oriented and comparable in time and orientation to the previous program in physics. In the course of the Master program, students acquire the ability to work independently on scientific issues. This ability is of fundamental importance, both for a later doctorate and for a successful activity as a physicist outside research in later professional life.

The Master program Geosciences is a research-oriented program. Based on the fundamentals and methodological knowledge gained within the previous program, Advanced geoscientific expertise is acquired from within the specific subject areas of geodynamics, mineralogy, biogeology and exploration geology. Students will learn to recognize geoscientific questions within a scientific context and to independently collect, analyze and interpret data. Furthermore, using appropriate methodologies, the students will learn to critically evaluate and use the scientific literature. Alternatively, students can complete their studies with and without specialization.

Geosciences
