The MA Visual and Media Anthropology degree equips students who already have a professional background in film, photography, journalism, communication studies, online marketing, digital/social media or any other field related, with an in-depth knowledge of Visual and Media Anthropology. The program provides the essential needed to become professional documentary filmmakers, documentary photographers and experts for virtual environments and immersive video.Students develop innovative perspectives with the potential to lead the future of digital anthropology in science, virtual platforms, TV broadcasts, museums, online news platforms, cultural institutions, film festivals, galleries, governmental and non-governmental organizations.The program also equips students with knowledge about the ethical correct production of classical, scientistic, immersive and artistic audio-visual media for the representation of national, and transnational cultures, with a focus on Asian, African, European, North American and Latin American “native” or “indigenous” communities. The program includes classes about the Theory and History of Ethnographic Film, Documentary Photography, Digital Anthropology, Camera, Sound, and Editing classes, Social Media Activism and Marketing, Qualitative Ethnographic Methods, Decolonization of the Image, Migration, Extremism and conflict Research, Virtual Environments and building in VR, Gender, feminist and queer theory, Environmental Anthropology, Climate Change and Visual Culture.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Fluent proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is a must, but a certificate is not required

The International Medical College® (IMC) is a well-established German university-based institution offering postgraduate international Master's courses and continuing education through a blended learning concept with the goal of providing the best knowledge transfer in dentistry, medicine, and medical technology. The International Medical College® of the University of Duisburg-Essen is maintained by the MIB GmbH. 
 
 The International Medical College® of the University of Duisburg-Essen implements or runs the following master's degree programs in the field of oral medicine on behalf of the University of Duisburg-Essen as a blended learning concept:

 The master's degree programs enable the participants to take a university examination based on the examination regulations issued by the University to obtain the academic degree "Master of Science". Part-time advanced postgraduate training and education programs are now available even to those who are already involved in a day-to-day clinic or practice routine, thanks to modern blended-learning concepts. IMC® is a unique didactic approach that combines E-learning modules, live online lectures, and hands-on practical training blocks.

International Medical College (IMC)

The University of Applied Sciences for Intercultural Theology Hermannsburg (FIT) was founded and accredited in 2012. It is also a unique location for interactions between people of different religions and cultures. Students from Germany and throughout the world live and study together, sharing their varied theological and cultural origins. 92 students from 33 different nations are currently enrolled at the FIT, including those enrolled in the Master's program in "Intercultural Theology," which is provided in collaboration with the University of Göttingen.
At FIT, students can study intercultural theology from countries including Egypt, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Germany, Georgia, Ghana, India, Iran, Cameroon, Kenya, Korea, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Syria, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, USA, and Belarus.

The goal of the research project is to promote academic achievements in the areas of migration and religion, international diaconia, and development in an environment related to the church and to establish the FIT as a reputable institution for intercultural, theological, and interfaith scholarship.

The following fields are the focus of the academic research conducted by FIT faculty members in conformity with this objective:

•        Migration and religion
•        Biblical research from an intercultural perspective
•        Intercultural history of Christianity
•        Systematic theology and hermeneutics from an intercultural perspective
•        Mission studies and international diaconia
•        Social work from an intercultural perspective
•        Religious studies and inter-faith encounters

The FIT library is centrally placed on the campus grounds and houses around 65,000 books, many of which are in the subjects of intercultural theology, mission studies, history of religion and Christianity, bible studies, migration, social work, and development studies. Students, instructors, and staff at FIT have continuous access to the library.
