The BSP began in early 2010 with the Business and Management faculty and its practical courses in management/business administration and business psychology. As of 2014, the university had 42,718 students enrolled in twenty-one different faculties and employed about 5,600 people, 411 of whom were professors. Ruhr-Universität Bochum

The North Rhine-Westphalia-based SRH University of Applied Sciences, which has campuses in Hamm, Leverkusen, and Münster, is a member of the SRH University Network. In the German city of Trier, the Universität Trier was established in 1473. The university, which had been shut down by the then-French government in Trier in 1798, was reopened in 1970, following a break of about 172 years.
