The degree programme in response to the high demand for specialists in the real estate sector with an understanding of the commercial matters surrounding property and with the ability to implement projects in the areas of intelligent building Technology and sustainability. As the largest branch of industry in Germany  the real estate sector is also the largest producer of CO2 emissions. This programme teaches how smart Technology can be put to use in properties to help protect the environment and make a contribution to environmental sustainability.

Students will graduate from the programme qualified to conduct day-to-day business in the sector and to face the challenges smart building Technology presents  as well as to develop long-term strategies and visions for establishing a sustainable approach towards properties in their different asset classes.

They will have developed the ability to plan and optimise the processes involved in smart building management using Technology such as the Internet of Things  energy management tools and other platforms.

50% of the modules are taught in German and 50% of the modules are taught in English.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The Northern Institute of Technology Management (NIT) is a university in Hamburg. The institute was founded in 1998 by 40 Hamburg University of Technology professors (TUHH). International engineers, scientists, and business-related graduates complete the NIT program and learn to master leadership and management tasks responsibly and sustainably. The institute provides an English-language master's degree program in Technology Management (M.A. and MBA), as well as a variety of professional training courses and workshops.
 
 The Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) and the Deutschen Akkreditierungsrat have both accredited the Technology Management study program. The entire program is written in English. The institute trains German and international students to be technology executives. Every October, between 25 and 37 students begin the Technology Management study program, with the goal of graduating with a Master's or MBA. Detmold and Höxter have additional campuses. Approximately 6,600 students collaborate with 173 professors and 550 other staff members in research, teaching, and administration. 
 
 The Technische Hochschule OWL offers 32 Bachelor's, 20 Master's and 1 Doctoral degree programmes. The TH OWL maintains an international partner network with over 100 universities. For several years, the university has been ranked as one of Germany's top ten applied research universities. The Electrical Engineering study program at TH OWL has already won several awards and is regarded as one of the best Bachelor's courses of its kind in Germany.
