The packaging, regardless of the material and for which product, has meanwhile become ubiquitous and taken for granted. Very few are aware of the small technical marvels they are holding in their hands and how much know-how is behind them. Every food is different and is therefore produced and packaged differently. The development of packaging that ensures that the product tastes good and looks good even weeks later brings together a wide range of disciplines such as materials and their sustainability, business administration, design, process engineering, robotics and microbiology. The topics of sustainability and recycling will become even more important in the future.
In the Bachelor degree, you will acquire the scientific and practical expertise to develop packaging that meets these diverse requirements.
Note: If you start your studies in the summer semester, you will study in the StudyFLEX program. What does StudyFLEX mean? The basic course is stretched from 2 to 3 semesters and supplemented by supporting events (bridging courses, tutorials, mentoring, study advice, orientation in the professional field). The originally 7-semester course is thus designed for 8 semesters, in which 210 cp are acquired. At the beginning of your studies, you gain time to refresh your scientific basis, to develop your learning strategy and to get to know the professional field. 

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

The objective of the English-language Functional Materials Master program is a research-oriented education in the field of modern functional materials, which are becoming increasingly important in the engineered world. The program focuses on the working mechanisms of modern functional materials and provides an education with respect to their manufacturing, processing and characterization. The program qualifies students for work both in basic research in public and private research institutions as well as in applied research and development in industry, in the fields of nanotechnology, chemistry, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. 

The Semester contributions totalling 354.17 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Student union fee 90.50 EUR, Student Body fee 14.00 EUR, Semester ticket fee 199.67 EUR and Administrative fee 50 EUR

Cambridge PET, FCE, BEC, ILEC, ICFE; UNIcert II, Cambridge IGCSE with level B2, are accepted proof of language proficiency

Functional Materials

The Master in Robotic Systems engineering focuses on the optimal use of robots in industry and society as well as the development and construction of novel robotic systems. Bridging gaps between mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and computer science, this program will enable you to develop innovative and intelligent robotic solutions to address the most pressing global challenges of the 21st century: industrial productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, healthcare, and mobility services.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

The Semester contributions totaling 310.15 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Mobility fee 201.05 EUR, Social contribution fee 98.00 EUR and Student body contribution fee 11.10 EUR

Robotic Systems Engineering

Master program in Computational Materials Science impart skills for cross-scale modeling and numerical simulation of deformation and failure processes in semiconductor, functional and structural materials. The program will help students to develop leadership skills and a solid scientific basis for interdisciplinary research. With the degree, the graduates acquire knowledge and skills to combine simulation tasks in mechanical engineering, materials science and solid state physics.

The Semester contributions totaling 94.00 EUR must be paid each semester. It includes Students union fee 87.00 EUR and Student Council fee 7.00 EUR
