Master

The aim of the Master program is to provide in-depth knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor program for the development and implementation of cognitive  information-processing systems  with particular reference to current scientific knowledge. In addition  the students are increasingly instructed to work independently according to the scientific principles of cognitive computer science.

Internship is not mandatory, but is optional during studies. If possible, we recommend doing an internship.

Our Master programme in Chemical Engineering will optimally qualify you for work in research and development or for managerial responsibilities in industry or in the civil service.

All compulsory courses are offered in English  some electives still in German

You will not need to demonstrate your knowledge of English if you obtained your Bachelor’s degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering of Münster University of Applied Sciences  if you completed a degree programme delivered in English or if you can prove that English is your mother tongue. In all other cases  the Examination Committee shall decide on the basis of your application.

Furthermore  „Advanced Architecture“ means designing and constructing on all scales  from urban contexts to the one-to-one detail. The Master program Evolution  Ecology and Systematics aims at students with a Bachelor degree in biology who are interested in molecular and organismic issues. Provided are in-depth knowledge of biological systems with a clear focus to current research in organismic and evolutionary biology.
The study is interdisciplinary  so that competencies in ecology  biodiversity (including taxonomic knowledge)  evolutionary biology  paleontology  systematics and phylogenetics can be acquired at different organizational levels and for different groups of organisms.

Good proficiency in English is required (a direct proof by certificate is not compulsory)

In order to commence your studies with us, you must first successfully complete our selection process. The interviews take place regularly and are carried out via Skype.

It is mandatory to do an internship. It is easier to find internship when it is mandatory. 3-6 months is most common.

Students are given tuition in all aspects of automobile interior design, necessary for the successful completion of a final 3D virtual model, including rendering and animation.

Embedded systems design

The term neuroscience covers research into the cognitive abilities of organisms and the underlying cellular and molecular mechanisms. The aim of the Master Neuroscience degree is to train neuroscientists who have solid knowledge and skills in the field of molecular and cellular neurobiology. There are two main focus of this program here. On the one hand, this is the methodical training in optical, electrophysiological, neurogenetic, histological and behavioral methods. On the other hand, it is the analysis and interpretation of the data with the help of computer-aided methods, i.e. a deeper understanding of how to deal with and analyze big data. 

Neuroscience

This research-oriented Master program in Chinese Studies is a novelty in sinological education. Focusing on Transformation and Particularity in China, the program combines content courses with Advanced language training. Students may specialize on either pre-modern or contemporary topics. Available research topics for the Master program are clustered in the sections of Biomedicine, Integrative Biology, Infection and Immunity, and Neuroscience.

FOCUS Life Sciences (Fast track)

The Master in Computer science allows graduates to apply Advanced mathematical, technical, theoretical and practical concepts of computer science and also be able to present and defend their knowledge and findings to a professional audience. Graduates will be able to access more in-depth knowledge in at least one or more subfield and also familiarize themselves in new fields of activity with the aid of specialist literature and technical literature to interpret and evaluate the results. Students will be familiar with important requirements and working methods in the commercial environment as well as in research and development and also apply their acquired skills in different intercultural contexts and in international teams.

Computer science

The programme focuses on animal and plant ecology and also includes aspects of sociobiology and other topics of organismic biology. Students learn various aspects, principles and experimental approaches in animal and plant ecology with a special focus on tropical ecosystems. With several bioinformatics tools, they become familiar how to use computer based approaches in order to address and resolve problems in these bioscientific fields. Students know to approach scientific problems both theoretically and experimentally, and  based on the results obtained to further develop scientific models and hypotheses.

Through the Master degree in mathematics, students acquire the specialist knowledge and qualifications necessary to able to do scientific work, to adequately present and convey mathematical facts, to critically classify scientific findings and to act responsibly. By studying mathematics, the ability for abstraction, logical and analytical as well as structured and goal-oriented thinking and the quick grasp of complex facts are trained particularly intensively, as well as high concentration and endurance. The Master degree in mathematics qualifies you for various professions in business and administration such as insurance companies, consulting companies, software houses, banks, data centers, statistical offices, etc.

In the Digital Media Bachelor programme you will analyse the ideas, approaches and history, as well as the technical foundations and tools that define digital media. Simultaneously, you will develop and implement your own hands-on project in video, audio, games, apps or mash ups. In the Bachelor programme you will study the theoretical foundations of digital media, analyse digital media critically and test Its applications in real life.

The Master Program in Geology deals with the quantitative research and analysis of the Earth by geological and scientific methods. 
It deals with interdisciplinary, rapidly changing topics concerning the complex process cycles of the lithosphere and Its interaction with neighboring spheres.The strongly research-oriented Master degree program provides a strong field component, methods to quantify field observations, as well as a deeper theoretical framework for understanding the complex interactions of geoscientific processes. 
Note: Applications: the program is currently being redesigned, and the new program is expected to open in the Fall of 2023 or later. No applications can be accepted until the new program opens.

The ITE program deals with the design, development, optimization and realization of renewable energy and fossil fuel-based energy-conversion plants with the support of information technologies. The program covers the application of information technologies developed in the energy domain. This Master program provides a broad understanding and knowledge in the fields of digitization, Control, Microsystems, Microelectronics and Information and Automation Engineering. The double degree Master programme Comparative Public Governance starts from the premise that
many of the most pressing societal problems today have local, regional, national and global
repercussions, that these repercussions typically do not stop at the borders of individual local
authorities, regional entities, or nation states, and that they often affect both public and private actors.
Effectively tackling these problems thus requires collaboration between public authorities from
different countries and different levels of governance as well as with civil-society actors that may
contribute critical resources. Graduates of the Master programme Comparative Public Governance will hold two diplomas: a one-year Master of Science (MSc) degree in European Studies from Twente University and a two-year Master of Arts (MA) degree in Comparative Public Governance from Münster University.
